Privacy
River Ranker is private by design. It's not a social network. There are no accounts, no followers, no feeds, and no way for other users to see your data.
Your Data Stays on Your Device
Catches & trip history
Stored locally on your phone. Never uploaded to any server.
Fishing spots & GPS markers
Saved on your device only. Never shared with other users.
Favorites & custom rivers
Your favorites, gear notes, and custom water bodies stay on your device.
Location
River Ranker uses your approximate location to calculate distances to nearby rivers. This happens locally on your device. Your location is not stored or transmitted. During trips, GPS tracks are saved locally and never uploaded.
What We Do Collect
River Ranker collects basic, anonymous usage analytics to help improve the app — things like which features are used most and crash reports. This data contains no personal information, no location data, and no fishing data.
No Accounts Required
You don't need to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal information to use River Ranker. The only personal data involved is if you purchase a State Pack through the App Store — that transaction is handled entirely by Apple.
Data Sources
River condition data comes from public government sources: USGS, NOAA, CDEC, USBR, and LADWP. River Ranker fetches this data to display conditions — no user data is sent to these services.
