How It Works

No more checking four websites before you leave the house.

1

Know Before You Go

Every river is scored using live USGS gauge data — flow, temperature, gage height — updated every 15 minutes. The 5-bubble rating tells you at a glance if it's worth the drive. No more showing up to blown-out water.

2

Your Research, Done For You

Tap into any river and get the full picture: flow trend charts, water temperature, weather — and with a State Pack, monthly guides, seasonal hatches, access info, regulations, and GPS hot spots. All researched by hand, one river at a time.

3

Your Water, Your Story

Log your trips, mark your spots, note what worked. River Ranker is your personal fishing diary — and it stays personal. Your catches, your notes, your favorite spots are never shared with other users. This isn't a social network.

Built by One Angler Who Does the Research

River Ranker is part research assistant, part fishing diary. Live conditions, hand-researched intel, and a private journal — all in one place. Nothing is shared. Everything is yours.

Live River Scores

Live River Scores

Every river scored by real-time conditions — flow, temperature, gage height — so you never make a drive you'll regret. Updated every 15 minutes from USGS gauges.

Researched Fishing Intel

Monthly guides, seasonal hatches, species profiles, regulations, and access details — reviewed and validated for every river. Like having a friend who fishes every river and takes good notes.

Your Private Fishing Diary

Log catches, add photos, write notes, mark GPS spots. Build a personal record of every trip. Your data stays on your device — no profiles, no sharing, no social feed.

Conservation-First Ratings

Conservation-First Ratings

The 5-bubble system factors in fish health. If water temps are stressing fish or flows are dangerously low, you'll know before you wet a line. Fish responsibly, fish more often.

GPS Hot Spots & Access

Curated access points and spots with coordinates. Where to park, where to wade in, what to expect. Your secret spots stay secret.

Flow Alerts

Set a threshold on any gauge. Get a push notification the moment your favorite river hits the sweet spot. Never miss the window again.

Your Research, Done

Like Having a Local's
Notebook

Every river page is packed with detail — the kind you'd get from a friend who fishes that water every week. I review and validate every piece of content, because I know what it's like to show up unprepared.

  • Live flow (CFS) & 7-day trend charts
  • Water temperature monitoring
  • Access info & directions to put-ins
  • Regulations, species, and seasonal hatches

Your Private Record

A Fishing Diary
That's Actually Private

Every trip, every catch, every note — saved on your device, shared with nobody. Build your personal fishing history over seasons and years. Find patterns in your own data. Remember what worked.

  • Log catches with photos and fly patterns
  • Mark GPS spots — yours and only yours
  • Monthly guides and seasonal hatch charts
  • Export your data anytime as CSV

Why I Built River Ranker

I built River Ranker because I was tired of the routine — checking USGS, pulling up weather, digging through forum posts, reading regulation PDFs — all just to figure out if a river was worth the drive.

I'm one person. I fish, I research, and I build this app. Every monthly guide, every hatch chart, every access note — I review and validate before it goes live. When you buy a State Pack, you're getting the notebook I wish I'd had years ago.

River Ranker isn't a social network. Your spots are yours. Your catches are yours. Your notes never leave your phone. It's a private research tool and fishing diary, built by someone who actually uses it every week.

I'm always adding more rivers, more detail, more states. If you care about doing your homework before you hit the water, this is the app I built for both of us.

“Fish when conditions are right. Stay home when they're not. Respect the resource, catch more fish.”

— Kaydin, Solo Developer & Angler

Your Data Stays Yours

River Ranker is built different. There are no profiles, no followers, no “trending rivers” giving away your water.

Private by Default

Your catches, spots, notes, and trip history are stored on your device. They're never uploaded, never shared, never sold.

No Social Network

No accounts, no followers, no feeds. River Ranker is a tool, not a platform. Your fishing stays between you and the river.

Built in the Open

River Ranker is in early release. I'm a solo developer shipping fast, researching constantly, and improving every week. Your feedback shapes what comes next.
